FeedRaider
25. October 2006 – 01:08 byFeedRaider is a Finnish start up that was just recently launched. It works as a RSS aggregator like Original Signal (which was previously covered here) or Popurls which aggregates news from Digg to Flickr to Newsvine and much more.
So where does FeedRaider fit in? It features pre-customised pages on topics like Technology, Web 2.0, Comics, Podcasts, Entertainment, Photos and Videos. What can I say, it looks almost identical to Popurls and Original Signal. See for yourselves:
Though unlike Popurls and Original Signal you can create your own sites by adding RSS feeds or import OPML files which takes quite some time. Sounds familiar? Yes, Netvibes and Pageflakes already do that. But FeedRaider doesn’t have the functionality of those sites. You can’t move feeds or add modules and flakes respectively. However you can change the CSS of the site if you are registered.
But besides changing the CSS I did not find any functions that sets FeedRaider apart from the aforementioned sites. Maybe there will be some new and cool features in the next few weeks or months but until then I stick to Netvibes as my startpage and Bloglines as my RSS reader.
