YourMinis and Microformats
7. December 2006 – 23:50 byYesterday I have written that YourMinis is able to detect profiles from some social networking sites. However the browser extension is even more powerful. It supports microformats. Here is an example:

The browser extension displays this: ![]()
If you click on it YourMinis opens and offers to add or download information:

As you can see everything is there: one RSS feed, one event and three contacts. However the contacts are just downloadable as (empty) vCards. It would be cool though, if I could add all detected information somewhere on YourMinis. Maybe I am blind and dumb and I already can? Please tell me.
Anyway, it would be cool if YourMinis worked on this. However that is probably not their primarily goal.

Thanks so much for your review….the contact is empty because the site does not have info in it…if you went to a site with microformats that had real contact info you would download the right info
The heads up also detects videos (try youtube), pictures (try any of the top sites, flickr, photobucket, myspace, etc.) and mp3s.
We also just launched a new community around sharing tabs - check it out at dir.yourminis.com. Now when you publish tabs you can publish them into the community and people can search, sort, rate and comment on your tab, as well as add it to their own dashboards.

Thanks for the info, Alex. Yes, the extension is a very cool feature and certainly useful when browsing.
