Adoption of Show Yourself Widget
24. April 2007 – 02:35 byIt seems like Dustin Bachrach’s Show Yourself widget has been completely adopted by Egoload recently. Egoload is a German website which is providing personality tests and support for self-development.
They have modified the widget a little bit and have exchanged some services for more well known German ones like Sevenload and Xing, though, and have added a button which is describing people’s personality type as well. I have come across this on Oliver Gassner’s blog yesterday (I read his feed but only occasionally visit the blog); never seen this before.
The Show Yourself code is public domain, so the Egoload adoption is legitimate, I guess.

ich habe in der Tat das Widget von Dustin in einer deutschen Version veröffentlicht. Wie du schon erwähnst, haben wir deutsche Hilfetexte und deutschsprachige Web 2.0 Services hinzu gefügt (und manchen US-Service weggelassen, der bei uns kaum genutzt wird). Wir haben das Widget auch etwas weniger “komplex” gemacht.
Der Coode ist public domian, wir haben Dustin aber auch schon bescheid gesagt, dass er sein Widget jetzt auch auf Deutsch bewunder kann …

Ich habe mit Eurem Widget kein Problem; ich hoffe das ist nicht falsch rüber gekommen. Nur hätte ich evtl. die gelben Hilfetexte nicht auch noch genommen, aber ist nicht so wichtig.

Having a look at the Blogalike Widget, I noticed Egoload got it’s inspiration this time from another source: the AutoRoll Widget from Criteo. No idea if this is public domain!?

I don’t know the AutoRoll widget yet. Will have a look at it when I am back home, currently using my parents’ dial-up connection.
