Blog Post for my Feed Subscribers

7. May 2007 – 23:18 by Carsten Pötter

People reading the feed of this blog have probably noticed “posts” including bookmarks on social bookmarking service Ma.gnolia. Those posts are generated by FeedBurner which offers a tool called Link Splicer. Link Splicer includes the link feed from Ma.gnolia in my blog feed. That’s the reason why you won’t find those posts on my blog.

At first I thought that this was a really good idea and I have discovered some interesting links by reading other people’s blog feeds. On the other hand those posts don’t really offer much content and quite a lot of bloggers use that service as it also works with feeds from Del.icio.us, Digg, and many more services. So especially on weekends it seems like the majority of blog posts appearing in my feed reader were just links on social bookmarking services.

So do you like those posts? Do you hate them? Are you about to unsubscribe because of them? I have deactivated this feature now. Tell me what you think. Thanks a lot.
