Webware 100: Vote for OpenID
30. May 2007 – 19:31 by
Currently Webware, CNET’s worth reading blog on new internet applications, is running a poll looking for the best 100 web applications.
250 services and applications in ten categories are up for vote. OpenID was nominated in the Browsing category. There are some tough competitors: Firefox, Google Reader, Netvibes, Stumble Upon, but also Sxipper, Sxip’s Firefox plugin which is also providing an OpenID.
Other categories are: Communications, Community, Data (Wink is nominated there. I am happy for the Wink folks; I did some beta testing for their widget), Entertainment, Media, Mobile, Productivity, Publishing, Reference. You can still vote until June 11.

Naturally I’m very happy that Wink was nominated. But I’m also happy to see OpenID and Sxipper in their categories as well. It’s good to have more awareness of identity solutions.

I want to see, http://claimID.com there.
I will vote for OpenID, Firefox, and StumbleUpon.

@Gaurav: You can vote just for one of the applications you have mentioned because they are all listed in the same category.
@Cheralyn: Actually I was surprised to see Wink as well as OpenID and Sxipper being nominated as I don’t remember them being mentioned very often on Webware.
