Bluebridge Quartet - Adjusted for Low Noise Tape EP [Aerotone 007]

Sunday evening, setting sun, time for some jazzy tunes. German netlabel Aerotone has released a four track EP by Swedish band Bluebridge Quartet a couple of days ago. And as you can expected from Aerotone it is no disappointment at all.
Bluebridge Quartet is a band with real instruments which was formed in 2004. And it’s Jazz, not that I know much about Jazz, though. Very uplifting tracks, drawing influences from Trip Hop and even Drum and Bass. The first two tracks - Spektrum and Tandberg - remind me of some jazzy Drum and Bass tracks from the end of the 1990’s; Peshay and E-Z Rollers come to mind. Very upfront and energetic.
Karp and Landet are a little bit more atmospheric, solemn even. And somehow I think those Swedish guys are not just listening to all those Jazz heroes from the 1960’s but also to some current Post Rock bands.
A stunning release and definitely a keeper.
