Comments on WordPress.com

It’s odd, I have almost forgotten that I also have a WordPress.com account; however I don’t run a blog there. The only blog I run is this one and it is powered by the self-hosted version of WordPress. If I remember correctly I got a WordPress.com account because Akismet, the spam filtering plugin for WordPress, required an API Key which is just available from WordPress.com. Also a stats plugin is running there.

I have never paid attention to the other tabs of the dashboard. I better had, though. It has a nice comment tracking tab which is just working fine. The only drawback is that it only works for comments made on WordPress.com blogs. It’s very convenient and you don’t need an additional comment tracking plugin or service like coComment or Commentful.

Also I have realised that I better change my email address and my publicly displayed name there; they are used for my comments and are not the same ones I usually use. Fixed that. :)

  2. Heheh.. It’s easy to forget things like this. I do it all the time.
