[...] Bye, bye Facebook?! “Today I had a look at a rather unknown feature of Facebook (see below) more than once. It’s probably just a matter of time before I delete all information and hit that link. Though will my account information, friends’ data, and mini feed information be deleted from Facebook’s servers? It’s called Deactivate, not Delete, right?” Related PostsWordPress Week: Share ThisShare This (No Ratings Yet) Loading ... [...]

[...] Did I wrong Facebook? Maybe. Facebook has replied to the accusation it was storing user data even if users weren’t logged in to it while being on a Beacon affiliated site. It says that data was deleted from its servers. However should I trust Facebook (again)? [...]

I have just deactivated my account. As could be expected deletion is not possible. So I have deleted every bit of information I could find in my profile and account settings. Took some time, though. :(

I've always had an ambivalent feeling about Facebook because there has been a lot of criticism right from the beginning. I eventually signed up for an account, but never really used it. Personally, I don't think Facebook apps are a killer feature although I admit that they are clever tools both from a technical and a strategical perspective. So, maybe now is the right time to "deactivate" my account because I have not given Facebook much data about me yet ...
